Lookart believes that art renews—people, businesses, and communities. We are an organization that transforms underutilized or empty storefronts into temporary art galleries. Artists get a chance to show and sell their work. Storekeepers and landlords bring life to to their properties.You get to see and buy local art. Everybody in the community wins.
Lookart is a child of the “pop-up” gallery movement spawned by the Great Recession. Our goal is not just to spark a few exhibits, but to create a web-based support structure that enables artists, landlords, and communities across America to simply and effectively establish Lookart galleries.
If you'd like to organize Lookart galleries in your community, we can help you get started and manage the process.
As a community-focused organization, we rely on donations of cash and space as well as the efforts of dedicated volunteers.
